Working on the Student’s Council can help you gain valuable insight on how an institution runs from the inside and what keeps the wheels of an organization running. You stand to gain the kind of experience that is only acquired by being in charge of and managing all the fundamental work that goes on in your respective department. Moreover, if you aspire to take up leadership or managerial roles in the future, then becoming a part of the Council is bound to add to your skill set.

Even as a member of the Student’s Council, academics should remain your top priority. In a challenging course such as the MBBS and also with the nature of our work as professionals, it becomes all the more important to balance out and utilize our time well. Managing your academic performance, attendance and personal life along with your Students’ Council responsibilities is tricky. Over the course of your tenure, you will grow accustomed to comfortably managing multiple tasks while maintaining a strong balance in your life and this will will help you inculcate the habit of planning in advance and managing your time well. It is something that should help you become more well rounded doctors in the future.

In the times that we live in, it has become increasingly evident that establishing a valuable network framework is vital to your career progression. For me, my experience with the Students’ Council moulded the way I think in many ways. It also encouraged me to understand and overcome numerous personal obstacles, and eventually helped shape me into a stronger individual, more confident in my ability to lead.
